RELATIONSHIPS
The architect – client relationship is akin to a partnership. With budget, schedule, and project vision at stake, trust is imperative. For this reason, we seek to establish clear communication, understood expectations and overall good relationships early on in a project. With a trusting team in place, each individual becomes more willing to ask important questions and more personally invested in doing what it takes to realize a successful project.
PROCESS
We consider our design process to be flexible and intuitive. It begins with an exploration of the essence of the project, aimed at uncovering the subtleties of programmatic goals and the deeper layers of meaning in a project's context and site. Once we understand the full extent of the problem to be solved, we firmly believe that solutions are best achieved through meaningful collaboration with all project stakeholders. Through effective collaboration, and the consideration of many well developed concepts, we have the ability to achieve design solutions that successfully create enhanced value for the stakeholders, as well as the social and physical environment.
STUDIO
In line with our firm’s philosophical tenets of collaboration and direct principal involvement, the RMKM studio boasts no executive office suites. Rather, our studio’s open floor plan integrates the Principals into the flexible work environment where RMKM designs and produces projects. Experience has proven that our open-interactive approach promotes synergy, cooperation, and flexibility that will ultimately better equip the entire team to solve design problems/issues and will enable concepts to evolve as the most appropriate planning-design-development solutions.
